Privacy Policy for Caxly

Last updated: 30 September 2026

Caxly ("the app", "we", "our") is an offline-first expense, notes and reminders application for Android, developed by Jaherul Hasan. This Privacy Policy explains what information Caxly handles, where it is stored, how it is protected, and what happens when you choose to export, share, or open an external application.

In short: Caxly does not operate a server that collects or receives your expense, notes, reminder, or payment information. Your Caxly data is stored locally on your device. Data leaves the app only when you explicitly choose an export, restore, or sharing action, or when you choose to open an external application.

1. Information Caxly Handles

Caxly does not require an account or login and does not operate a backend service for collecting your app data.

Information you enter into Caxly may be stored locally on your device, including:

This information is stored locally and is not transmitted to a Caxly server.

2. Permissions and Device Features

Permission / capability Purpose
Biometric / device credential Used for the optional App Lock feature. Authentication is handled by Android. Caxly does not receive or store your fingerprint, face data, PIN, pattern, or device password.
Notifications Used to display reminders and related local notifications that you configure. Notification content may include information you entered into a reminder.
Exact alarms, alarm-style alerts and vibration Used for time-sensitive reminders and alarm-style reminder notifications. Scheduling and delivery are performed locally by Android.
Receive boot completed Used to restore scheduled reminders after the device restarts.
Visibility of selected payment applications Used to identify supported UPI/payment applications that Caxly can open. Caxly does not read information stored inside those applications and does not access your payment history through them.

Caxly does not require an Internet connection for its normal expense-tracking, notes, reminder, database, or analytics features. External websites, email applications, payment applications, or sharing destinations are opened only when you choose to use those features.

3. Payments and UPI Applications

Caxly is not a bank, payment processor, wallet, lender, or financial service provider.

Caxly may allow you to open a UPI or other payment application installed on your device. The external payment application controls the payment process.

Caxly does not receive or store your UPI PIN, bank account password, card number, or payment credentials.

External payment applications operate according to their own privacy policies and terms.

4. Exporting, Sharing and Importing Data

Caxly provides local data export and sharing features.

These files are generated on your device. If you choose to share a file using Android's share sheet, the file is transferred to the destination you select, such as a messaging, email, or cloud-storage application. That destination is responsible for how it handles the information.

When restoring a backup, Caxly reads the file that you explicitly select through Android's file picker.

Files generated for export or backup may be stored temporarily in app-private storage and may be automatically removed after the app-defined retention period.

5. Data Storage and Security

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Caxly keeps locally stored information until you delete it or remove the application's local storage.

You can delete information using the deletion controls provided by Caxly, clear the application's storage through Android settings, or uninstall Caxly.

Because Caxly does not maintain a server-side copy of your Caxly database, there is no Caxly server account or server database from which we need to delete your local application data.

7. Third-Party Applications and Services

Caxly does not sell your information and does not operate advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting services that transmit your Caxly data to us.

When you voluntarily use an external application or service through Android, including payment applications, messaging applications, email applications, cloud-storage applications, web browsers, or other sharing destinations, that service may process information according to its own privacy policy and terms.

8. Children's Privacy

Caxly is a general-purpose personal expense, notes, and reminders application and is not specifically directed toward children. Caxly does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a Caxly server.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Caxly's functionality or data handling changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
